Ed Rollins was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2004. The CFA® Charter is the only credential for investment analysis and management recognized worldwide. Recipients of the CFA Charter have successfully completed a graduate-level educational curriculum that covers investment-related knowledge, including economics, asset analysis and valuation, portfolio management, and ethical standards. CFA charterholders must pass a series of three sequential 6-hour examinations. Pass rates average about 50 percent at each examination level, and only about one out of five candidates successfully complete the entire program. In 2005, he successfully completed the coursework and exam for the Certified Financial Planner credential. The CFP® certification requires hundreds of hours of study and passing a two-day, 10-hour examination, covering financial topics such as retirement and estate planning, and investment planning, risk management and ethical conduct. A native of California, Ed Rollins is a 1980 summa cum laude graduate of University of California at Davis. He earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1984. Since 1990, he has made Johnson City his home, together with his wife, Susan Rollins (a prominent local physician), and their two children. Edward S.
